<div itemprop="description">MacPherson, Alexander, passed away peacefully, at the Moncton Hospital, August 13 at the age of 68. Born and raised in Moncton, Sandy was the son of the late Earl and Beatrice (Lewis) MacPherson and brother of the late John MacPherson.<br><br>Sandy is survived by his best friend, Susan Rogers; sister-in-law, Mary Parlee (Howard); nephew, Andrew (Margaret); niece, Heather and great nieces Anna, Livia, and great nephew, Dysart.<br><br>A graduate of Moncton High School, Sandy obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree from Mount Allison, McLean School of Engineering and University of New Brunswick. Sandy was employed by the City of Moncton for over 43 years where he held the positions of Director of Public Works and Manager of Water Supply.<br> <br>He was passionate about motorcycles and hot rods and spent many happy hours restoring them. <br><br>Sandy took great pride in his Scottish heritage and was a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Moncton. He was also a member of Keith Lodge #23, Order of the Eastern Star; C.W.W.A and A.P.W.A.<br><br>A service of remembrance and celebration of life will be held at Mount Royal United Church on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11 am. preceded by Masonic and Eastern Star Services at 10:30. Committal to follow at Fair Haven Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Donations of remembrance may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Friends of the Moncton Hospital. <br>Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, (506) 852-3530.</div>
