Arnold Johnson

Johnson, Arnold of Moncton, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital with his family at his side on March 22, 2017 at the age of 89. Born in Berry Mills, NB, on May 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Moody and Gertrude Johnson.
Arnold was married to the love of his life, Jean for 65 years and was a devoted son, husband and father.
Arnold was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Moncton and a member of the Senior Choir. He was also a long time member of The Moncton Layman Choir. Arnold was an accomplished carpenter who helped build and renovate his children’s homes. Arnold grew up on a farm and loved working in the garden, working in the woods and had a great appreciation for the outdoors which he instilled in all of his family. Arnold was a soft spoken individual who loved to have his family around. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a special place in his heart and always put a smile on his face. Arnold was a diehard Toronto Maple Leaf Fan.
Arnold is survived by sons; Gregory (Dianna) Johnson, Glen (Susan) Johnson, daughters; Catherine (Robert) Rowan, Sandra (Robert) MacQuarrie, He is also survived by his grandchildren; Lukas (Stacey) Johnson, Talia (Craig) Hughes, Allie Johnson, Connor Johnson, Geoff Rowan, Jennifer Rowan, Amanda Fougere, James (April ) MacQuarrie, Mark MacQuarrie, great-grandchildren; Austin, Ben, Jesse, Alex, Sophie, Quinn and his many nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Arnold was predeceased by the love of his life Jean, who he dearly missed in the last year.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, a funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Richard Jackson officiating. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Cemetery. Donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society.
