<div itemprop="description">David J. Falardeau<br><br>December 1, 1929 – September 17, 2016<br><br> <br><br>The Demise of David J. Falardeau, 86 years of age, of Moncton, New Brunswick, occurred on September 17, 2016 at The Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital. <br><br>He was born in Quebec City, QC, and brought up in Ottawa, ON. He spent five years in the Royal Canadian Navy, and upon his Honourable discharge worked for Simpsons\Sears in Security and Accounting. During this period he learned to fly in his spare time, and in 1956 was employed by Maritime Central Airways, flying in support of the construction of the Distant Early Radar Line in the Canadian Artic, and upon its completion, on contract and mainline services in Fredericton and Moncton. <br><br>He did a one year tour as Captain with Air Guinea out of Conakry, Guinea, West Africa under contact to the U.S. Government and its aid to underdeveloped countries program. Upon his return to Canada, he joined Transport Canada as a Civil Aviation Inspector in Moncton, and two years later transferred to Ottawa as an Executive Pilot where he remained for 20 years. In this capacity he flew Federal Government Cabinet Ministers, six Canadian Prime Ministers, Governors General, World Dignitaries, Foreign Heads of State and Heads of Foreign Governments. Subsequently, he was transferred to Edmonton, Alberta as Director of Aircraft Services where he remained for 10 years until his retirement at age 65. <br><br>He is predeceased by his wife and best friend of over 55 years, Yvonne (Cormier) Falardeau ; his parents Rebecca (Mercier) Falardeau and Jules Falardeau; sister Juliette Lee (Roger) of Stockton, California.<br><br>He is survived by his sister Mariette (late Guy) Peron of Paris, France.<br><br>David was cremated and his remains will be kept in perpetuity in the Serenity Niche at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens beside those of his late wife. <br><br>A memorial mass will be celebrated in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or to The Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated by the family. <br><br></div>
