Emma Forsyth
July 29, 1915 - March 23, 2015
FORSYTH, Emma Ferne - 99, passed away on March 23, 2015 in Moncton, NB. Born in Mount Pleasant, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia on July 29, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Emma Jane King and Charles Melville McCormick. She lived in the USA for a number of years, she also lived in Amherst, NS, and resided in Moncton since 1946, where her husband was employed with CNR (now Via Rail). Ferne belonged to many different organizations LTBA (PWM), Pearle Rebekah Lodge No. 9, Ladies Auxiliary Branch No. 6, Lifetime member of the Seniors Group, also a member of the Air Force Vets, Lions Club and the Odd Fellows. She enjoyed sports, bowling, bingo and playing the organ. Ferne is survived by daughters, Barbara Jean Forsyth (the late Jean Voipan) and Evelyn Fay Forsyth (Jack McManaman); son, Brian Ralph Forsyth (Faye); Son in Law, Ken Harper; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and also nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Forsyth (November 21, 1979) and her youngest daughter, Betty Lou Harper (February 9, 2003). She was the last surviving member of eleven children. There will be a viewing on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow, all in Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, NB, E1E 3V9, 506-852-3530. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
