Jones, Ethel of Shediac Cape, passed quietly and comfortably surrounded by her family at The Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on January 4, 2017 at the age of 92.
Born in Shediac Cape, NB, December 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John-Moore and Ada (Adams) Hanington.
Ethel is survived by her children; Joyce (Marven) Taylor, Dorothy (Nelson) Beaumont, David (Nicole) Jones, brothers; William, Allen (Willa), sisters; Margaret Harvey, Mary Rimmer, Florence Hicks, Edie Hanington and Lillian Hamilton.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Stacey, Wesley, Heidi, Jessica, Caitlin, Joshua, great-grandchildren; Austin, Grace, Hunter, Edie, Molly, Coco, Mason and her many nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her husband Donald Jones (2011), great-granddaughter Chelsey and her two sisters; Doris and Muriel.
In keeping with Ethel’s wishes there will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Martin’s in the Woods Anglican Church, 3394 Rte. 134 Shediac Cape, at 2:00pm with a reception to follow in the church hall.
Interment will take place in the St. Martin’s in the Woods Cemetery. Donations in Ethel’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
