Gertrude "Gertie" Williams
July 30, 1912 - December 17, 2016
Williams, Gertrude “Gertie” of Moncton passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on December 17, 2016 at the age of 104.
Born in Mouth of Keswick, NB, July 30, 1912, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Yerxa.
Gertie is survived by her son Rev. John (Margaret) Williams, half-sister Myrtle Fraser and her half-brother Bud (Marion) Yerxa.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; David, Mark, James, Deborah, Glenn, several great and great-great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, Gertie was predeceased by her husband Alfred Dunn Williams, daughter Corrinne, brother Arthur, sisters; Judith, Mable, Toby and an infant sister.
In keeping with Gertie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre Palliative Care.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre Palliative Care and the staff of the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for the excellent care and service provided to her while she was there.
