Irma Horsman
November 21, 1926 - March 13, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Pauline Horsman (nee O’Blenis) on Monday, March 13, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital.
Irma was predeceased by her parents Leta and Murray O’Blenis and her husband Delbert Irvine Horsman.
She is survived by her six children, Linda Dowhaniuk (Milt) Edmonton, AB; Brenda Cail (Daryl) Halifax, NS; Dennis Horsman (Tina) Richmond, BC; Terry Horsman (Kathy) Whitehorse, YT; Gorden Horsman (Barbara) Salisbury, NB; and Martin Horsman, Steeves Mountain, NB. Her joy was her family and she took great pride in her 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Throughout her life, her love of music saw her through good times and bad. She played the guitar, piano and fiddle. She loved the time she spent with the Greater Moncton Fiddlers, and the Sussex Avenue Fiddlers.
She was the spirit of our family and she will be greatly missed but always remembered with love.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Burton, Dr. Phelan and the Nursing Staff in the Palliative Care Unit of The Moncton Hospital for the wonderful care given to our mother.
A Service to Celebrate her Life will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 1:30 pm with viewing from 12:30 pm until time of service. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital in Irma’s memory.
