Judith Jonah passed away at the Moncton Hospital on December 8, 2015. Born in Petitcodiac, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Bertha (Humphrey) Ryder.

Judith is survived by her husband of 51 years, George; son Jeff and daughter in law Lise Bellefleur-Jonah; grandson Gregory; sisters Deborah (Wayne) McAllister and Dareth (Reginald) Thorne; sisters in law Alda Ryder, Patricia Graves and Diana Boudreau; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Roy Bryant Ryder; and brothers in law, John Graves and Larry Boudreau.

Judy’s relationship with her grandson Gregory was very special. She enjoyed her summer trips around the Maritimes, going to his hockey games and having him at the cottage. One would always know when Gregory was coming to her home or cottage for a visit because out came the cookie pans and special meals were planned. The love of her son Jeff, her grandson Gregory and the time they spent together was very important to her.

Special mention of Christine O’Brien, a special friend that Judy called the daughter she never had and Christine referred to her as her second mother. Judy enjoyed the lunches they had together every month. Judy had a very special relationship with her sister Debbie. They were always there for each other.

Judy enjoyed many hobbies, including bowling, reading, time at the cottage, her daily glass of wine and playing the card game 200. Judy worked outside of the home for many years and retired from Amcor in 2004.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place in Fair Haven Cemetery at a later date. If desired, remembrances in Judy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, NB, E1E 3V9, (506)852-3530.
