<div itemprop="description">Gillis, Christine Marguerite, passed away peacefully at The K. E. Spencer Nursing Home on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the age of 96. <br><br>Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Evylin and Augusta Francheville.<br><br>Christine is survived by her son, Peter and daughter-in-law Brenda as well as her nieces and nephews.<br><br>In addition to her parents, Christine was predeceased by her husband George, and brothers, Murray and Jordan.<br><br>Christine and her husband enjoyed many years of travelling and explored many different countries. Christine also enjoyed the times spent at the family cottage on the bluff in Shediac.<br><br>She made many good friends through her political ties and enjoyed her trips to Ottawa as a delegate. <br><br>In her sixties, Christine obtained her B.A. Degree from Mount Allison University. She worked at Eaton’s until her retirement at age 75. She travelled alone every October to Montreal by train to celebrate her birthday until she was 94.<br><br>She will be sadly missed.<br><br>The family would like to thank the Staff at the K. E Spencer Home for their care and compassion. <br><br>A graveside service will be held in the spring at Elmwood Cemetery. <br><br>Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. <br><br></div>
