Myrtle Nimchuk
April 22, 1941 - November 20, 2016
Myrtle (Myrt) Ernestine Nimchuk (O’Brien) entered Heaven’s Gates on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Born in Turtle Creek, NB on April 22, 1941. Myrtle was an avid crafter, had a natural born talent for creating beautiful crafts and ceramic figurines. Crocheting and quilting was also in her repertoire of talents.
Growing up in Salisbury, NB, Myrtle loved music, singing and dancing. At many family get-togethers she could be seen playing guitar while other members of the family played the banjo, mandolin and accordion. Her and her sisters loved to get up on picnic tables and dance to the music of the accordion.
Myrtle is predeceased by her mother Hazel O’Brien (Weir) father Ernest O’Brien and her sister Sylvia Trueman (O’Brien). Myrtle is survived by her sister Marilyn Rogers, brother, Robert O’Brien (Nola), her three daughters, Bernice VanSnick, Helen Creswell (William) and Laura Plourde. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Nicholas, Shawn and Breanna as well as a great grandson Joel. In lieu of a wake and funeral, a celebration of Myrtle’s life will be held on Thursday, November 24 at 2:00 pm at Fair Haven Cemetery, Serenity Niche. All are welcome to attend. Instead of flowers, memorial donations in Myrtle’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
