<div itemprop="description">It is with saddened hearts that the family of Raymond M. O'Brien wish to announce his passing on April 17th at the Veterans Health Center Moncton, NB. <br />Born in Lakefield, NB, he was the son of the late Abigail Ann (O&rsquo;Neill) and Leslie O'Brien. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth &ldquo;Betty&rdquo; Welling and his brothers; Earl, Russell, John and Coleman. <br />Raymond is survived by his spouse Seneta &ldquo;Nettie&rdquo; O'Brien of Moncton, daughters Janice O'Brien of Toronto, Cheryl Leger of Salisbury, Gail (Rob) Blair of Alberta, Kim (Peter) O'Brien-Jakobowski of Alberta and Son-in-law Robert Leger of Riverview. He is also survived by his son Lawrence &ldquo;Larry&rdquo; O'Brien of Grangeville, his sister-in-law Evelyn O&rsquo;Brien of Leduc, Alberta and his brother Lloyd O'Brien of Montreal, Quebec, as well as 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. <br />Raymond enlisted in the Canadian Army with the 14th Field Ambulance R.C.A.M.C. on August 21st, 1940. He was also with the Regina Rifles for a short time. He served in Canada, United Kingdom, Continental Europe (England, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland) and he stormed Juno Beach on D-Day. <br /> <br />Throughout his life his family and his country were what Raymond valued most. <br /> <br />Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home,1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton beginning with a private visitation for family on Friday morning, April 24th followed by visitation for the public on Friday April 24th from 2 to 4pm. A Legion Service by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 will take place following the visitation at 4:00pm. A memorial service celebrating Raymond&rsquo;s life will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, April 25th at 2:00pm. Interment to take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. <br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's name to The Royal Canadian Legion, The War Amps or a charity of the donor's choice. <br />The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Veteran's Health Center for the kindness, compassion and care that was given to Raymond during his stay with them. <br />Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. <br /></div>
