<div itemprop="description">LEGER, Normand Joseph, CD (Ret&rsquo;d)<br /> Sept 3, 1929 &ndash; May 1, 2015<br />After a short illness Normand Leger passed away suddenly at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Friday May 1, 2015. <br />Beloved husband of the late Lucienne Leger (nee Chevarie), loving father of Paulette (Malette), Denise (Goguen), Michael, Patricia (Irschick), Monique and Joanne. Son of the late Thomas and Elmina Leger. Loving brother of Rebecca, Isola, Lucille, Corrine and Pauline. Cherished grandfather of Chantal, Martine, Danielle, Jesse, Jennifer, Gilles, Angie and Brody, great-grandfather of Marie-Yves, Christopher, Randy, Christopher and Mila and great great-grandfather of L&eacute;a. He served 25 years in the military, first as a Korean War Veteran with the Royal Canadian Navy as a Leading Seaman Gunner aboard the &ldquo;destroyer&rdquo; HMCS NOOTKA, HMCS MICMAC and in the RCAF as a Firefighter where he finished his military career. After the military he went on to work at the George Dumont Hospital where he retired in 1989. An avid outdoorsman, he and his wife enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, especially at his camp on the Barnaby River, NB. He was a former member of the Bicentennial Skating Club, a Life Member of the Air Force Veterans Club and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion where he enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard with his many friends. He was admired, loved and respected by those that he touched over his life and will be fondly remembered by all.<br />A memorial service and legion service will take place at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00pm. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Normand&rsquo;s memory may be made to a charity of the donor&rsquo;s choice. <br />Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, (506) 852-3530. <br /></div>
